A re-vamped Robert Drasnin special...
Robert
Drasnin's birthday is once again just around the corner, so I'm airing
a slightly updated version of my birthday special from a couple of
years ago... Classic exotica, TV scores , and more!
-November 22
Tiki Noir returns
Can't
get enough Drasnin? Hear more here on this re-airing of my tiki noir
show, showcasing Skip Heller's excellent disc Lua-O-Milo (which also
features Robert Drasnin) and other cool stuff.

Animal Day...
Yesiree Bob, it's animal day. What other day could it be than animal day? What's it all mean? Tune in and find out.
-December 6
The holidays come a little early...
Sorry
to subject you to more holiday stuff than you can stand... but I wanna
join in on the fun at the LuxuriaMusic holiday party (even though I'm
all the way on the other side of the continent!). Tothar of The
Beyondophonic Action Hour—who usually does his show remotely, like I
do—will be hosting his show live from the Lux Xmas party in LA on
December 6 (7 pm pacific/10 pm eastern) and I'll provide an hour-long
lead-in of holiday crap!
-December 13
Thrifting/Beyondophonic Crossover show...
Celebrating
the one-year anniversary of my move to Sundays (and of the
Montreal/Akron crossover show), Tothar and I will be at it again with
another combined 2-hour Thrifting for Tunes/Beyondophonic Action Hour
show! What's in store? Not quite sure yet but it's sure to be a good
time!
-December 20
The return of Akron/Montreal...
Speaking of our first crossover show, here it is again for your pre-holiday enjoyment. Songs from and about our two hometowns!
-December 27
What?!? More holiday music?!?
Well maybe... not quite sure what we're slotting in here yet but tune in for a little break between Xmas and the New Year.
And speaking of the holidays, have you heard about this?
Leave it to LuxuriaMusic to go fearlessly where no online radio-station fund drive has gone before. The feisty Webcaster (www.luxuriamusic.com), soon to celebrate its tenth anniversary, kicks off its winter drive November 8 by offering listeners Snow What? A LuxuriaMusic Holiday Happening,
a double-CD compilation of rare, curious and culturally insignificant
Christmas and Chanukah songs curated by the station’s eccentric
music-expert DJs. At
just $25, the premium will likely be an offer few LuxuriaMusic
subscribers or true music geeks can refuse. Where else might one find,
in one place, such fireside favorites as “Santa’s Italian Wife,” “Lem,
the Orphan Reindeer” and “I Know What He Wants for Christmas” by Kay
Martin & Her Bodyguards.
“The
idea behind Snow What? is two-fold,” explains LuxuriaMusic general
manager Chuck Kelley. “First, it’s a way for subscribers to help move
their favorite station into the New Year. Second, it gives people a
chance to snag a great Christmas gift to give someone else. You won’t
find this music anywhere else, so it has a unique appeal for hardcore
music fans. It’s got all kinds of holiday material: lounge/exotica,
punk, rock ’n’ roll, soul, country, novelty, ethnic humor. We’ll be
offering the CD from Nov. 8 all the way up to Dec. 24, so you don’t
have to order before midnight!”
Only 300 of these CD compilations are being made, so order your copy today.
