I will keep you posted on rumors of the closing of the flagship Civic Center San Francisco Trader Vic's location. It was closed for the holidays - an unusual step as the holidays are always a big party booking time for TV - and has yet to reopen!

Meanwhile
Dan O'Donnell tipped us to a cool podcast about the closing of the Beverly Hills Trader Vic's back in May of 2007
Some local coverage of some big name Tiki legends:

John Rabe (reporter) has a Saturday show that is podcast. On May 26 he did three pieces (about 5 minutes each) on Trader Vics demise; the Tiki Ti bar in Silverlake; and Oceanic Arts in Whittier.

Please join us for a special birthday celebration for Linda Miller, featuring three great surf bands.  For years Linda has selflessly dedicated herself to the development of the Huntington Beach International Surf Museum.  Few people have done as much to preserve the history of surfing and to promote surf music and the beach lifestyle.  In particular, Linda has been a goddess in helping the surf music scene thrive.  We owe a special debt of gratitude to Linda.  She has brought an extra level of joy and happiness to us all.
