Hula Hula Celebrates First Anniversary with
Original Tiki Mugs
Hula Hula will be unveiling a specially commissioned tiki mug and
celebrating with an anniversary party Saturday, December 15, at 8
p.m.
"We are so excited about Hula Hula's first birthday," says
owner Keith Robbins. "There is no doubt that the tiki culture is
alive and kickin' in Seattle and the custom-made tiki mugs are hot
items for collectors."
The classic Polynesian mugs were designed by renowned tiki mug
sculptor Squid the Mondo and come in two different versions. Each mug
is available with either a turquoise or chartreuse interior while
sharing an identical exterior of Hula Hula's distinct logo of a
lounging hula dancer. Hula Hula commissioned 500 mugs of each color.
The mugs can be purchased at Hula Hula or by emailing
hulahula@comcast.net.
Hula Hula's birthday blow-out is open to the public and will
feature music from the Bossa beat alterna-pop band Lushy and a special
appearance by lounge pop artist Shag. Guests are encouraged to groove
to great music, sip a Hula Hula cocktail from an original tiki mug and
nosh on a delicious, tropical-themed pupu platter.
During the anniversary party only, mugs will be available for the
festive price of $14.95 with a drink included! Regularly the mugs are
$14.95 or $10.95 when accompanied by a drink.
Hula Hula is located at 106 First Ave. N. and is open 4 p.m.
to midnight. (206) 284-5003.
