Title: Alameda: Ukulele bash cited for noise and shut
down
This year's luau was spectacular
and
It has got to be the first time in the history of Alameda that a
solo ukulele player has been shut down by the police!?!?
The sun came out right at 1 pm when the luau was to start, Martin
(Forbidden Island) was one of the first guests and he arrived with a
gallon of punch! Robert Silverman played theremin, Koz played uke,
Tiki King was set to go on next but the cops came and shut it
down!!
Koz rocked the neighborhood so hard on his uke that we got called
for excessive noise!
Flouting the law we continued to party and Sudsey and his saw and
his buddy played a semi-acoustic set. Lucky Juju's Lil Juju capped off
the day with vintage pinball machines on FREE play in an airstream
hand-pushed into the neighbor's driveway!
Mary (Tiki Oasis video editor) took some nice photos with cameos
of Jim Giddings (Tiki Oasis stage mgr), burlesque dancer Esperanza,
artist R. Black, and a couple of Devil-Ettes among the crowd
