Now announcing the 4th Annual Hukilau Festival! 2005 presents two historic musicians to the lineup of performers. Robert Drasnin, best known for his classic 1959 recording "Voodoo" performs his first Exotica material in over 40 years as he debuts "Voodoo II" . We also announce the appearance of the legendary Yma Sumac, who defines the word Diva! She will sing 2 songs of her choosing and will be present at Friday night's extravaganza to sign autographs and chat with attendees. Designed to stir the South Florida nostalgia mood in you, we've invited Charles Phoenix of godblessamericana.com to turn back the clock as he presents the one time only "Space Age Tiki Slideshow" - which features a glimpse into the lives of the Jet Set from the 40's all the way to the 1970's with home Tiki party slides and views of Florida back in the day. Returning to Hukilau is the one and only King Kukulele, providing the laughs and side splitting comic relief to get your mind off of the Florida heat! Joining us for the first time we welcome several more performers including Waitiki from Boston, Tongo-Hiti & Dames A'Flame from Atlanta, Slip and the Spinouts from South Florida, Haole Kats from the Gulf Coast, Bella Berretta from LA, The Intoxicators from Central Florida and Ohana Arts from our own Ft. Lauderdale providing the kickoff of this years theme "Let's Go Native!" as they excite us with an authentic Polynesian Drum Show that will set the mood for the weekend. Guest DJs include Miami's DJ LeSpam, Jeff Chenault and DJ Del Villareal! Vendors from all over the country will bring Tiki carvings, paintings, necklaces and a variety of Aloha gear - the Tiki Bazaar - so that your homes are full of souvenir's to remember your experience. Derek Yaniger is once again the chosen artist for the Hukilau artwork this year and will be present for his first Hukilau!! He also designed a collectible shot glass and scorpion bowl, to be produced by Tiki Farm. Plus, the first Hukilau Car Show presented by Lifers! Go to www.thehukilau.com <http://www.thehukilau.com><http://www.thehukilau.com> for more information on attending and DON'T FORGET TO SIGN UP FOR THE LATEST NEWS!
But the real highlight of the entire weekend is the Aloha Spirit that can only be created as we all celebrate together at the Historic Mai Kai!
Make your plans now for the biggest Tiki party in the East!
