Welcome to Tiki Torch Nights held monthly at Trader Vic's - Atlanta in the
Downtown Hilton. Come join Tiki fanatics from all over the Southeast for a
gathering celebrating Polynesian Pop!
Trader Vic's in the Downtown Hilton opened in 1976 and is our escape to
paradise set in the heart of Atlanta. We are truly fortunate to have such a
treasure of Tiki here in the South - from the picture of the Original Hinky
Dink's to the amazing Barney West Tiki's that grace the outdoor entrance -
this location has remained true to the spirit of Aloha and has been
virtually untouched from renovation.
Trader Vic's is now celebrating their 70th Anniversary and the 60th
Anniversary of the preferred cocktail of the islands the Original Mai Tai
created by "Trader Vic" Victor Burgeron himself. Enjoy all the Mai Tai's
you want for the low price of $4.50 each!
You can contact Trader Vic's Atlanta directly at 404-659-2000 for directions
or questions.
For further info about this and future Tiki Torch Nights or if you're
interested in performing please contact Tiki Kiliki
This Tiki Torch Nights brings you amazing talent and sightings from other
seas......
From Chicago comes author Duke Carter signing copies of his book "Tiki Quest
- Exploring the Exotic Past". Duke has been collecting Tiki for over a
decade with his wife Amy. His book is beautifully designed and lavishly
illustrated with over 1000 photos filling nearly 200 pages. Tiki Quest is a
must-have for Tiki enthusiasts whether they have been a collector for a long
time or if they have just had their first scorpion bowl! Buy your copy from
Duke or bring your own from home. Better yet, buy it and have it signed for
a fellow Tiki collector!
Announcing the first appearance at Vic's of Tiki carver Basement Kahuna
bringing a few of his amazing pieces! Known as a one man Oceanic Arts, he
has recreated artifacts from the past and designed incredible carvings now
seen in the new Tiki bar in Augusta, GA called Hale Tiki. He will also
bring vintage Hawaiiana to sell to those enthusiasts looking for something
special to add to their collections!
The line up includes another incredible performance by Atlanta's own
Tongo-hiti! Frontman Mike Geier and the boys continue to amaze us with
their Hawaiian renditions of "Dancing Queen", "Sweet Sue" and also great
Polynesian standards such as "Let's Talk Dirty in Hawaiian" and "Lovely Hula
Hands". Don't miss their weekly performances as Trader Vic's house band on
Thursday nights from 8pm - 11pm!
